About Wilderkin Beekeeping
Charlie Oak is a beekeeper serving the Collective Hive in Asheville, North Carolina and the surrounding towns.
They have been beekeeping for over 10 years. Their journey began on the sweeter side of the trade - bottling and selling local honey at farmers markets in Austin, Texas. It didn’t take long for their love for honey to become an absolute love for bees and they began beekeeping! They managed the company apiary and the apiaries of private landowners throughout Central Texas. They also performed honey bee hive removals and swarm removals. Their time beekeeping in Central Texas laid the bulk of their foundational beekeeping training, providing them with over 500 honeybee colonies to manage and gain experience with.
In 2020 they began Wilderkin Beekeeping based out of Asheville, NC -a beekeeping company currently focused on providing honey bee education through private beekeeping lessons, beekeeping mentorship and apprenticeship, and beekeeping consultations. They provide personal hive management services, from large apiaries to the single hive in your backyard, and occasionally you’ll catch them selling local raw honey and local raised bees.
